Helpful Hints and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

First off – Thank you for selecting Niagara on the Lake Vacation Rentals for your Niagara-on-the-Lake Holiday rental accommodation.

Important information around regulation, by-laws and arrival/departure:

Each of our private rental homes are safety inspected and licensed by The Corporation of the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Therefore, we strictly enforce the Niagara-on-the-Lake Short Term Rental By-laws, in conjunction with the By-Law Officers. Within each home is a document that clearly defines the by-laws and we ask that all guests staying at the property familiarize themselves with the rules.

While we address the key By-Laws during the initial walkthrough, below is a reminder of some that tend to slip our minds (we all get excited when we get to our vacation destination, so a gentle reminder):

The towns noise by-law is strictly enforced, the “Quiet Time” hours are between 11:00 PM and 7:00 AM.

The Town of Niagara on the Lake does not allow overnight street parking, or parking other than the designated parking pointed out at check-in. Failure to abide by the rules may result in ticket, towing and other charges at the vehicle owners expense.

Parties such as bachelor/bachelorette and gatherings of people other than those you list as overnight occupants, are not allowed.

Each Niagara on the Lake Vacation Rental Home has a clearly defined overnight maximum number of occupants and for many reasons this number must not be exceeded.

We encourage you to visit our policies that you have accepted and share them with your group at: http://notlvacationrentals.com/policies/

Now that we have addressed the rules, below is some information on pre-check in and arrival at the Niagara on the Lake Short Term Rental:

Please let us know the morning of check in day, your expected arrival time so that we can coordinate one of our Hospitality Associates to meet you at the rental home, show you around and collect the HST tax (if necessary). Once we have completed the walkthrough of the home, we will provide directions and suggestions of places to eat and to go, if needed. We like to ensure that the individual that placed the reservation pays close attention to the information provided. Ultimately you are the person responsible for the vacation home rental, during your stay!

Please provide any updates/changes on arrival times to your Niagara-on-the-Lake Cottage Rental, by message through our NOTL Vacation Rentals Live Chat Bot, Phone call, Airbnb Message, HomeAway message or text to 416 988-1611, when you are 20 minutes away (or if we should expect any delays), so that we can meet you at the home timely.

For information on things to do please visit our blog post that provides detailed information on our suggestions at: http://notlvacationrentals.com/repost-additional-information-niagara-lake-reservation-accommodation-listing-site-information-notl-vacation-rentals/

We look forward to your arrival and wish you a very safe and enjoyable journey to Niagara-on-the-Lake!

Aww, now it’s time to leave, what to do at check out of the Niagara Vacation home:

For us to prepare for our next guests, the check out time is at 11:00 A.M. The cleaners and post check out inspection will take place at 11:00.  Changes to this time must be pre-approved by Management. Don’t worry, we will remind you with an email on check-out morning!

Please refer to the homes manual that was presented at check in for any check out questions you may have. As a reminder please lock the home, collect all your belongings, and ensure that no cars are left in the driveway.

Please let us know when you have checked out by on-line message or text/call to 416 988-1611 or any of the options we noted above for arrival.

Each home is inspected before and after every reservation. Should any damage have occurred, please let us know prior to departure, so that we can discuss a solution. We know that accidents happen so lets all be up front and address the situation – “Ugly and Early” saves all of us a lot of time, money, and energy!

What we provide:

BBQ Fuel, Coffee, Tea, Sugar, Paper products, Trash Bags, Dish/Laundry soap and local One Earth bath soaps.

We hope you enjoy your stay and we are here if you need us during your stay!

Once again, Thank you for selecting our Vacation Rental Home for your accommodation and visit to Niagara-on-the-Lake!
